UEFA to honour Ireland fans for 'outstanding contribution' to Euro 2016
Fans who travelled to France to support the boys in green at the Euros - take a bow.
UEFA has announced that it intends to honour Republic of Ireland fans for their 'outstanding contribution' to the European Championships.
Fans of Northern Ireland, Wales and Iceland are also to get similar awards.
Each association will be presented with a commemorative plaque at one of their upcoming home World Cup qualifiers played in October.
“UEFA wanted to reward some of the groups of supporters that were particularly enthusiastic and passionate during the tournament.”
We don’t want to blow our own trumpets but we were complete legends over in France - we definitely deserve this one.
Here’s a reminder of some of the best moments -
Having the craic with the locals…
...taking care of each other…
...and of course, a lullaby!
