Jurgen Klopp has hinted Liverpool will not buy a new left-back following their 1-1 draw at Tottenham.
“We’re going to need more players for different positions,” he said. “The only decision we made is that Milly can play it, especially in the kind of play we think we should play.
“Full-back is not only a winger in the offensive situations, it’s something like eight (roles) in different moments so that’s a really good position for Milly.
“He still has to adapt and learn because he’s not had 500 games in this position but we will work on it, like we work on every player.
“In the end we were convinced he could play the position and that’s why we didn’t make the transfer. I’m not surprised he can play there.”

“We know Jay’s condition, I’ve spoken to a few people there, we know it’s going to take a few games for him to get back into his stride but I know the lad and he’s a fantastic lad.

Tottenham want Mangala

Don’t laugh, it’s true, according to ESPN. Tottenham genuinely want to sure up their defence with Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala. We’re not sure that will actually help.
Since joining City for £32 million in 2014 the French defender has been less than convincing at the heart of the defence. The fans might just drive him to White Hart Lane themselves.

Ragnar Klavan reveals Jurgen Klopp sent him a selfie

Ragnar Klavan has revealed Jurgen Klopp sent him a selfie to prove Liverpool’s interest in him wasn’t some sort of wind-up.
The 30-year-old defender was a surprise addition to Klopp’s squad when he joined from Augsburg earlier in the summer.
And the Reds’ keenness to recruit Klavan shocked even the player himself, who initially thought his mates were pranking him when Klopp texted him.

Okore set for Villa exit

Jores Okore appears to be the latest man heading out of Aston Villa, the Birmingham Mail report.

Bennett joins Cardiff

Cardiff City have confirmed their acquisition of Aston Villa left-back Joe Bennett, subject to international clearance.
Yesterday, Villa owner Tony Xia revealed that the move was imminent but now an official announcement has been made and the 26-year-old will wear the No.3 shirt - Fabio’s old number.
The former England Under-21 international replaces the Brazilian, who left the Welsh capital earlier this month to join Premier League side Middlesbrough.
Bennett had been on the verge of signing for Sheffield Wednesday but Xia pulled the plug on the transfer at the eleventh hour, insisting the club wouldn’t sell to a promotion rival.
So he will now join up with the Bluebirds after signing a three-year-deal at the Cardiff City Stadium, WalesOnline report.

Palermo president says Balotelli wants to join

Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli wants to join Palermo, the Italian club’s president, Maurizio Zamparini, has said.
However, his wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block.
Jurgen Klopp wants to sell the striker, who joined the Reds in 2014 but has just one Premier League goal to his name in a red shirt.
“I called (agent Mino) Raiola and he passed the phone over to Balotelli,” Zamparini told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Mario immediately confessed he’d be happy to come to Palermo. We did discuss the economic situation and I explained we could not afford wages above a certain level.

Balotelli has no future at Liverpool
“This would be an opportunity for him, but he’d need to make a sacrifice to relaunch his career on the international market, at his level.
“We are interested, so we need Raiola to understand that Balotelli must reboot. He needs a club like Palermo, which of course is also where he was born: it’d be an immense advantage in the long run.
“We are very happy to keep him for a year and get him back to being the world class striker he once was.”

50 shades of Garay

Valencia are closing in on their replacement for Arsenal-bound Shkodran Mustafi.
The Mestalla club are set to sign Zenit St Petersburg’s Ezequiel Garay in a deal worth around €20million.

Whether he is included in today’s squad to face Eibar will tell us much about the striker’s future.

Chambers heading abroad?

Newly-promoted Hull City and Middlesbrough are among a clutch of clubs chasing Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted they will allow 21-year-old Chambers to go out on loan this season to gain regular first team experience.
Wenger insisted the signing of Shkodran Mustafi would not affect his long term future but confirmed a loan move is on the cards.
Wenger said: “Future? No. The fact that he could go out somewhere and play? Yes.”

West Ham have also enquired but Arsenal want Chambers to go and play as a centre back while there has also been interest from Stoke and Derby. There has been foreign interest as well with Espanyol, Valencia and Roma.
Hull and Boro could potentially offer regular games and Chambers is likely to decide in the next 48 hours after Arsenal receive offers.

Liverpool make £11m bid for Pulisic

Liverpool have offered Borussia Dortmund £11million for American wonderkid Christian Pulisic.
But it is believed that Dortmund will resist all attempts from Jurgen Klopp, their former coach, to lure the winger away from the club.
Klopp worked with Pulisic during his time at Dortmund, where the 17-year-old was in the club’s academy.
He became an instant hit when he was promoted to the first-team back in February, where he scored two goals.

But the United manager has hit back...

Perez completes Arsenal medical

Lucas Perez has completed a medical in London and will complete his move to Arsenal this weekend.
Arsene Wenger is set to sign the forward for £17million — even though he was turned down by the Gunners one month ago.
The Spanish Deportivo La Coruna striker touched down in the capital on Thursday night ahead of finalising a deal.
Perez has been watched repeatedly by the north London club, but in July they knocked back the chance to sign him.
Yet with pressure from fans demanding action in the transfer market as Wednesday night’s deadline looms, manager Wenger has gone back in for the 27-year-old after he appeared to be heading for Everton.

Pep: City will help Joe Hart find a new club

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City will do everything possible to help Joe Hart find a new club.
The Spaniard has frozen out the England number 1 since arriving in the Premier League earlier this summer, and handed Hart what appeared to all intents and purposes to be a farewell appearance against Steaua Bucharest in midweek.
With Claudio Bravo’s arrival, Hart is free to leave the club but after Sevilla and Everton - the two clubs with most significant reported interest - now both ruling themselves out the chase there is a question mark over whether City will be able to shift the England keeper.
“We want the best for [Hart],” said Guardiola.
“The club will help him find the best option.”
